Zion, Cozad, Nebraska to Celebrate Centennial Meeting Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church was constituted June 13, 1908 with 12 charter members: Elder S. I. Gardner, Phoeba Gardner, Richard Gardner, Katie Gardner, Bertha Gardner, William H. Worrell, Sadie Worrell, W. T. Judy, Ellen Judy, R. B. Rowland, Elder W. S. Craig, Arminta L. Craig. The organization meeting was held at the Hanley schoolhouse, near Cozad, Nebraska. The Presbytery consisted of Elders C. M Cooper, W. S. Craig, S. I. Gardner and Deacon C. A. Worrell. After the Church Covenant, Articles of Faith and Rules of Decorum were read. Elder C. M. Cooper delivered the charge. The Lord willing, Mt. Zion will celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2008. Many changes have taken place in our city and in our nation but the church here at Mt. Zion has been blessed to worship the unchangeable God of the scriptures throughout her history and we trust that He will be pleased to bless the church to continue in our community until He returns again. Therefore, we believe there is no better way to celebrate our Centennial than with worship services. Please feel welcome to come and celebrate with us! Schedule of Services: June 5, 6, 7, 8. Thursday at 6:30 PM (Fellowship Supper & Singing). Friday at 10:00 AM; 1:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Saturday at 10:00 AM; 1:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Sunday at 10:00 AM.
